Thankful

Happy Halloween everyone!

We celebrated Halloween yesterday as our town had Trick or Treat yesterday.  Our town never celebrates Halloween on a Sunday.  All the family came over and we had a big dinner and also celebrated my brother's birthday before the kids went out to get all of their goodies.

I have a Thanksgiving banner to share with you this evening.  It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving will be here in less than a month.

The paper I used for this project is from K & Company. I picked it up at JoAnn's earlier this year.  I just loved the colors and it reminded me of Fall/Thanksgiving.

I added the pleated medallions behind each letter.  The letters are from Making Memories.

I added a lace scallop to the back of each panel.

I printed a couple of pictures with a Thanksgiving theme and attached them behind a couple of the letters.

The little sentiment strip on the top of each panel was created on the computed. I also added some gold glitter around each medallion using my two-way glue pen.

Well this should do it for Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving projects.  I will start sharing my Christmas projects with you soon.  Until then, thanks for visiting.

October PTI Blog Hop Challenge

The challenge this month is to created a project that celebrates a winter holiday other than Christmas.  Every year I send the family a Winter/New Years card.   They usually get sent out the first week of January and the front of the card is a winter theme with a New Years sentiment on the inside.  When I say family, that is my immediate family of 5.

This year I decided that all of my Christmas gifts will be wrapped in kraft packaging paper and red and white tags and bows.  Although my Christmas cards do not reflect those colors as this was an after thought, I decided to use some of the colors for my Winter/New Years cards.

The stamp set used for this card is Snowfall,  I just love those little mittens.  I'm hoping that PTI will come out with a die for them. The ink is pure poppy and Versafine onyx black. I also using Quickutz embossing folder, snowflake punch and die.  I added red rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes on the mittens and a bit of bakers twine as well.

For a little sparkles I added some Martha Stewart's crystal fine glitter to the snowflakes on the mittens using my two-way glue pen and for the snowflake pictured above I ran it through my Xyron and added glitter.  For the sentiment strip I added  strips of 1/8" scor tape to the top and bottom then added the glitter.  I also rounded all the corners of the card with my corner chomper and added pop dots to the mittens.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has created for the hop.  Thanks for visiting.

Halloween Treats

I made some  Halloween treats for the girls at work.

I decided to make sour cream containers and I filled them with a bunch of candy.  The tags I made from scalloped circles nesties and a 1 3/4 " punch.  The stamps are from Spooky Treats I & II.  The paper is from my stash.

Well that will do it for Fall and Halloween projects, in the coming days/weeks I'll be posting Christmas projects and gifts. Thanks for visiting!

Spooky

We'll be having a small Halloween/Birthday party next Saturday.  Our town will be having Trick or Treat on Saturday instead of Sunday and we will also be celebrating my brothers birthday which is this Monday.  My nephews love to trick or treat in our neighborhood and I alway make a little something special for them so here's what I created for this year.

I used a large can and covered it with white cardstock then wrapped gauze around the whole can.  The gauze I picked up at the doller store.  Then I took some big google eyes and glued them in between the gauze.  Super easy!

I then put some white tissue paper in the can and filled it with a bunch of goodies.  I can't wait to give them to the kids.

Scottie Birthday

My niece will be celebrating her 4th birthday next month and I wanted to created something different for her card.  I saw something similar to this somewhere on the world wide web but for the life of me I can't remember where.

I cut the scottie shape from true black cardstock, the scarf was cut from some paper I had in my stash, the button is PTI pure poppy vintage button.

I used a black pearl for his/her eye and cut an oval for the nose.  It's hard to believe that 4 years ago my niece was born premature weighting in at 1 lb. 7 oz. and  now she is a healthy and happy little lady.  She's our little miracle baby.

Holiday Planner #3

Edit:  The calendars included in my planners were created using the Microsoft Publisher program.

The last of the three planners I made for an order I received.

Spring rain paper and ink and white cardstock and fresh snow ink were used for this project.

Stamp sets used were Giga Guidelines, Take Note, and Vintage Ornaments.

Other elements used were Martha Stewart border punch, 3D stickers, embossing folders from Cuttlebug and Quickutz, satin ribbon and felt.

My computer was used to make the inserts and the holiday events and receipts tags.  I also used two of the fillable frames dies.

That's it for this edition of Holiday Planners.  Thanks for visiting!

The stamp sets used were Tree Trimming Trio, Fancy Flourishes, Damask Designs and Take Note.

Some of the other elements used were a holly embossing folder by Cuttlebug, 3D holly stickers, gold glitter paper, white satin ribbon.

The inserts were made from my computer and a custom envelope for holding receipts.

Holiday Planner

For my sister's birthday I made her a holiday planner, you can see it here.  She had a little get together with some of her friends and she was showing them the planner and one of her friends order three of them.  They were made to her specifications.  Here's the first of three:

You can find the basic directions for these holiday planners here.  I inked all the edges of the manila folder with fresh snow ink.  Spring rain cardstock and ink and fresh snow ink were used for the whole project.

There are some many elements to this planner.  Some were made on the computer, some were stamped using the Snowfall stamp set.

I also used the swiss dot embossing folder by Cuttlebug, grand adhesions snowflake stickers by K & company and silver glitter paper.

I made some felt mittens and an envelope to hold receipts in.

Thanks for visiting.

Acorn

Here is my Thanksgiving card that will be going out to the family this year. I wanted to create a different shape than the usual A2 card, so this is what I came up with.

I made an acorn template and cut out my card base onto kraft cardstock then added some distressing ink to give it a little dimension.   Then I cut the top piece from dark chocolate cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug using a Quickutz embossing folder.  The sentiment tag was generated from my computer, the leaves were die cut using the leaf die from Delightful Dahlia on to some green felt I purchased at JoAnn's.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Here is what the card looks like when opened.  I still need to add my Thanksgiving verse.

Thanks for visiting today!

Jack-O-Lantern

This is my Halloween card that will be sent out to the family this year.

The idea came from a card Mellisa Phillips did a while back.  The stamp sets used are Spooky Sweets I and II and Polka Dot Basics I. Ink used are Fresh Snow, Versafine Onyx Black, Smokey Shadow and distressing ink. I used orange zest and rustic cream cardstock, the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

Spooky

You probably know by now how much I love to make banner, well I have a halloween banner to showcase.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye, the chipboard lettesr I pickedup at JoAnn's,

I added some chunky black glitter from Doodlebug.  The sentiment strips I created on my computer.

I added some black crepe paper at the top and trimmer it with my pinking shears, black buttons from my stash.  The little timepieces were also made on the computer that I printed out on vellum paper.

Sheet Music Wreath

This was a fun project to do thanks to Papertrey Ink for the wonderful leaf dies they have available.

I used sheet music to die cut a bunch of oak leaves from.  I them made a form from some thick wire.

I then covered the wire with some felt and starting attached the leaves with some craft glue.  I prefer to use 3 in 1 advanced craft glue by Beacon, it dries really fast.

After glueing on all the leaves I made a little bow with some satin wire ribbon I had in my stash.

Well that's it for today, stay tuned where I'll have more projects for you.  Thanks for visiting.

Mayflower Favor

We host Thanksgiving dinner every year and for the past few years I have been making favors for each place setting.  I had a post a while back on the favors I made for this year that you can see here.  While those are for the adults I thought I should have ones for the kids and this is what I came up with.

I found this idea over at Splitcoast Stampers a while back and thought how cute this would be for the kids at Thanksgiving.  I plan to fill the boats with a bunch of treats.

I wish I would have had the Background Woodgrain set as that would have been perfect for the boat so instead I just used some Ranger's distressing ink in Corduroy.  The boat is made from kraft cardstock as well as the mast and flag. For the sail I used the Labels Eight nesties die cut from rustic cream cardstock.  I cut a smaller label from the Labels Eight die with some fine linen cardstock, cut it in haft and used the sentiment from the Fall Elegances set stamped in dark chocolate as well as a leaf stamped with versamark ink . I used some antique linen to distress it both pieces.  For a finishing touch, I used some rope to wrap around the sail and mast.  Is this not the cutest, I can't wait to give them to the kids.

Fall Wreath

This idea came from Dawn McVey, I just fell in love when I saw it and knew I had to make one too.  My version is smaller, I used a 6" foam wreath form instead of the 12" size Dawn used.

The leaf dies are from Papertrey Ink as well at the cardstock.  The colors I chose were kraft, ripe avocado, terra cotta tile, scarlet jewel, summer sunrise and dark chocolate.  I can't even tell you how many leaves there are. I can tell you that I used all four dies for each color so we know that there are at least 24 leaves but I know I kept cutting till the wreath was full so I lost count.  I made a little bow to complete the project.  The ribbon is from my stash and is a 7/8" brown grosgrain ribbon.

Thanks Dawn for the great idea.

Halloween Treats

Every year I make my nephews a little something special for their halloween treats and this year is no except.

I got this idea from over at Splitcoast Stampers in the resource section.  This was so easy to make.
The patterned paper is from my stash as well as the purple cardstock.  The tag was made from a PTI die in orange zest cardstock.  The stamped images are from the Spooky Sweets II set stamped in Versafine onyx black.  I just  punched a hole at the top and attached the tag with some black ribbon.  Of course I filled the bag with lots of goodies for the boys to enjoy.

Note Pads

My sister asked if I would make her some note pads for her to give as gifts.  She needed 16 of them so this is what I came up with.

There are 12 different colors, 4 of the colors I had to duplicate to make 16.

All supplies used are from Papertrey Ink.  For the top of all the notepads I used Bitty Dots paper, In Bloom paper was used for the middle section and for the bottom I used the Background Basics Text Style I set stamped in fresh snow.  For the focal image I used the Label One nesties die with the Vintage Label stamp set along with the Take Note stamp set stamped with the coordinating ink.  To finish it off I used twill ribbon in the coordinating colors.  I then wrapped each one with some clear cellophane.

Thankful

I have been spending alot of time creating 3D projects and gifts and it seems like forever since I made a card.  Hopefully over the next few weeks I'll be sharing some of my creations.  It seems like I just don't have the time to blog as much as I would like but I'm going to give it the old college try.

Here is a project I just finished making for my sister.  She showed me a photo of something similar that she really liked and I thought to myself, "I can make that".  I'll be giving it to her tomorrow.

Each panel measures 4" x 4" and is made with rustic cream cardstock. The total length of the banner is about 40" without the tails at each end for hanging.

The letters were created on my computer.  I was able to get four letters per 81/2" x 11" piece of cardstock.

I used Fancy Flourishes set stamping the images with Ranger Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy.  All the edges are distressed as well.

I punches holes in the top corners of all the panels and ran brown ribbon (from my stash) through all the holes securing the ribbon on the backside with some scor tape.

I thought my sister would need something to package her banner in for storage so I made a little box to go with the banner.

The box measures 5" x 5" and is made from kraft cardstock.  The patterned paper I used is from my stash, I'm sorry but I have know idea would made it.  I've had it for awhile and there was no marking on it. The label on the top was made from a PTI die, the sentiment is from First Fruits and the images from Vintage Labels.

I just simply added some kraft tissue paper inside and there you have a nice little gift.  So when she sees the box tucked away she'll know what's inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
