April Blog Hop

It's that time of the month once again for PTI's blog hop.  This month's focus is on tissue paper.  We are to incorporate tissue paper in our project so this is what I came up with.

There's nothing unique about my little paper flower.  I had made this up to use for a different project then changed my mine.  The other day I was at my LSS and saw this pattern paper that I knew I had to have.  Look at all the PTI colors in it.  It's from Pinecone Press.  I added Raspberry Fizz and Orange Zest cardstock.  The sentiment is from Around and About set stamped in True Black.

Thanks for hopping by!

Mother's Day

Here's a card I made for my mother for Mother's Day.

For the card base I used vintage cream cardstock embossed with the Quickutz embossing folder.  The focal image was done by cutting out a piece of melon berry paper using a nesties die and stamping the background with Background Basics Text Style in versamark.  The word Mother is from Mega Mixed Messages stamped in dark chocolate.

The paper I used for the flower is from Lasting Impressions  that I've had in my stash for awhile.  I cut out a bunch of pieces using the flower dies from PTI and added a melon berry button in the center tied with some rustic cream twine.  To finish it off I added some vintage cream satin ribbon.

Thanks for stopping in today have have a wonderful  week.

Mother

This weekend I had some free time to play in my Happy Room and I wanted to get a jump on some cards I'll be needing in the next few months.  Mother's Day is slowing approaching so I wanted to get those cards out of the way first.  Yesterday's day card will go to one of my sisters and today is another card I made for my other sister.

I used the same concept as yesterdays card except I didn't add the cut out flower.  Instead I added the buttons.  For this one I used the Cuttlebugs dot embossing folder, added some score lines at the bottom and stamped my sentiment in between.

I love how the patterned paper pops underneath the white cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Life set stamped in orange zest and raspberry fizz.  Tomorrow I'll show you the card I made for my mother.  Until then, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Life

I was on  Martha Stewart's site the other day and came across a neat card layout, so this is my take on it.

I just have to say that I'm in love with the new flower dies from PTI.  For this card I used orange zest card front and cut out two flowers, then using my Scor Pal I scored some lines around the flowers.  This will help it to pop out alittle and gives them some dimention.  I used a white card base and adhered raspberry fizz bitty dots paper to the front then attached the orange zest card front.

I using some glue dots to attached the flowers and added some raspberry fizz buttons tied with white floss.

The sentiment is from the Life set stamped on white cardstock in orange zest and raspberry fizz.  I then added a strip of glitter at the top and bottom using the 1/8" scor tape.  The colors really pop IRL and it came together rather quickly.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate Today

Happy Monday!  I came across this piece of striped paper in my stash that I really liked, the piece was only 5" x 7" so I wanted to get the most use out of it.  I CASED a card from Dan McVey seen here.  Here is my version

For the other piece of this striped paper I created this card

I just happened to have this piece of patterned paper in my scraps that I keep on counter and thought they went well together.  For the focal image I used the Vintage Labels, Giga Guidelines and Mega Mixed Messages stamp sets. I added some dark chocolate twill ribbon and some foam pop dots and rounded the bottom corners.  These colors went well with a spring moss card base.

I hope you all have a great week, thanks for peeking.

Recipe Box

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope your weekend is going well.  Mine so far has been uneventful, which is a good thing.  I wanted to share a project that I've been working one.  I made a recipe box for my sister for her birthday.  The box I purchased at Michael's for $1.00, this is what it looked like when I got it.

This is what it looks like when I got done with it.

I painted the box in Antique White which actually looks more beige or wheat color.

For the top I stamped a layer of deep red cardstock with Background Basics: Retro in Versa Magic Wheat then a layer of a wheat color cardstock and the top layer is stamped with Recipe Box Label where I used clear embossing powder and Recipes is stamped in dark chocolate.

I used the same deep red cardstock along with a Martha Stewart's border punch and made panels for all sides of the box.  I then cut a few strips of the wheat cardstock to add to the sides.

For the front, I added some metal embellishments to dress it up alittle.

Now for the dividers, I cut kraft cardstock to size and added a strip of red cardstock and the same MS punch.  The tabs were created using my computer, I used a 1 3/8" punch to cut them out and the little flourish is from Faux Ribbon set stamped in pure poppy.

Hope you enjoyed today's post.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Easter

It's hard to believe that Easter is tomorrow.  Where has the time gone?  Quickly, I wanted to share with you a gift pail that I made for my nephews for Easter.

I picked up this bucket at Target in the Dollar Spot section.  Whenever they have them I always pick up a few to have on had to make up little baskets for a quick gift.  I just bought some fun little treats to go in the bucket and I also made a little sleeve to put some money in (sorry forgot to take a pic of it).  Wrapped it up with celleophane and tied a not so fancy bow around it.

Then I made up this quick tag to make the gift complete.  I used a scrap of  lavendar moon  cardstock along with some scraps of patterned paper,  the Fillable Frames #1 and butterfly die and Egg Hunt stamp set.  I added a couple of jewels to the center of the butterfly and a little flower jewel.

Well gotta run and finish up some things before tomorrow.  Happy Easter everyone!
