*Create* Banner

I have been slowing working on a new banner to hang in my craft room.  I purchased a little pack of paper by K & Company with matching chipboard letters.  I was drawn to the soft tones and designs of the paper and thought the colors would look good in my happy room.

You will not find any glitter on this project.  I wanted it to have a more soft vintage look to it.

I used a Fiskars border punch for the accordian medallions and destressed them using some Chamomile ink from PTI.  I did some zigzag stitching and added some lace trim at the top of each pendant.

There are some bits of felt as well as buttons.  The most time consuming part of this project was making all the medallions.  I love how it looks in my craft room.  This one will being hanging up till Labor Day then I'll  bring out the autumn one I made.  I'll share that one with you at a later date.

Papertrey July Blog Hop

Here we are on Sunday evening ready for the PTI July blog hop.  This month we are to incorporate office supplies into our project.  For my project I used a file folder to create a holiday planner.  I got the idea from Splitcoast Stampers in the resource section.

I had such fun making this.  All the paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Oh Joy paper crafting kit.  For the front I used the Round and Round set with the Take Note set with an image from Vintage Ornaments.

There is not alot of PTI in this project but I did use some of the wonderful Fillable Frames stamps and dies along with the Mat Stack I die, oh and some new leaf twill ribbon.

Sorry some of the images didn't turn out that well,  I was pressed for time getting this project done and posted.   All of the items in the pockets I created  using my computer as well as the Holiday Events and Receipts tags.  Behind the November calendar is one for December.  The calendars are at the top and there are lines below it to makes notes of upcoming events since the squares are alittle small to write in.

I created a little envelope to hold receipts.  It's always nice to keep all the receipts from gifts purchased in one place.  I really like this project for the simple fact that everything is in one place and will help keep me organized for the holidays.  My sister's birthday is next week and I think I will give this one to her.  I really enjoyed making this that I think I'll make one for my other sister and one for me.  It just amazes me to think that this once was a plan file folder.

Thanks for stopping by and happy hopping!

A much overdue project

I know it's been awhile since I've posted a project.  As I explained in my last post, I was pretty busy taken care of the old folk.  Things are getting back to semi normal around here.  Mom goes on Tuesday to get her hand checked, hopefully she'll be able to get the cast off.  She's still walking with a surgical boot on her left foot.  Dad's cataract surgery went well and he can see much better.  Next month he gets his other eye done.

I finally have a card to share with you.  My sister that lives in Florida sent me up some wonderful cardmaking supplies as a thank you for taking care of mom and dad.  So with some of the paper she sent I made a thank you card to send to her.

The paper is from a pack by Making Memories called 5th Avenue.  I paired it up with some simply chartreuse felt using a flower die by PTI.  I added the pearl in the middle which I had in my stash.  The sentiment is from Communique Curves stamped in smokey shadow.  The card base in also smokey shadow.

It has been unbearably hot here and this weekend will be no better, so I plan to stay in my nice air conditioned craft room and get some much needed crafting done.   I hope to share some of those projected with you soon.

Update on life

Sorry no project to share with you today, just wanted to pop in and let you know why I haven't posted anything lately.  I've been a little busy with my parents, my mother had to have foot surgery and the day before her surgery she fell and broke her hand.  So she has a cast on her left hand and is walking with a surgical boot on her left foot.  My father had cataract surgery, plus he goes to dialysis 3 days a week.  My father uses a walker to get around so right now neither one of them can do much for each other.  So I've been doing all the things that my mother would do on top of everything I already do for them plus I work full time.  I haven't had time to get in my happy room and am missing really bad.  Hopefully things will get back to semi normal soon and I can get back to my crafting groove.
